Thats what I think, too. I have lived in Illinois and Ohio, Minnesota and ND. ND is ok but I came across alot of the stereotypes, especially in Illinois and its like you said. Just plain dirty. And I can’t recall ever seeing an appliance on the porch here. About the worst is a car seat on the porch. I just hate that. But you said it all when you said southerners have more class.
