I think the reason why everyone is dogging you is because you’re being silly about the “idiot” comment. It wasn’t said literally, as in “Steve Jobs has an IQ lower than 70.” Rather, it was a simile, like “What an ass” (doesn’t make one buttocks or a donkey) or “You’re a pig!” (said to Clinton, but he is still unfortunately a human).
Heck, I'm an idiot AND a horse's ass quite often...but I assure you I'm not either one all the time.
