Mary Cheney gave birth today to perhaps the most anticipated baby in contemporary U.S. politics -- her first child, Samuel David Cheney, whom she will raise with her longtime partner Heather Poe.
The 8-pound, 6-ounce boy is the sixth grandchild for Dick Cheney.

You are so right.
You are so right.
I wonder who if any on this site could cast that first stone?????
I wonder how many politicians on both sides have been so righteous?
I wonder who out there have done things they would rather others not know?????
We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc.
Unfortunate that Jim doesn’t oppose the advocacy of government enforced theism as well as atheism. I also would like to hear what opposing “all forms” of feminism entails...would that entail opposing “Feminists for Life”? I guess it would. That’s unfortunate. And silly.
That said, Jim never said he supported hate. And that’s been rampant from some of the holier than thou crowd on this board lately.
I really respect your opinion but I just hate it when Christains are called intolerant because they believe in what God says. And there is a huge difference in the God of the Holy Bible and the god of the koran.
So why don’t we just not allow heterosexuals to procreate and only allow gays to raise children?
"it's turning into a forum advocating theocracy, and this thread is just one of many examples."
Could you name one or two FReepers who are "advocating theocracy" on this thread?
Well, not as a rule. But homosexuals can't have children the normal way.
Its in the old and new Testament. The Bible was devinely inspired. The authors were inspired by God in what they wrote so it is what God intended.
He left me. I didn’t leave him. He went to prison, then he died.
I am angry at the downward spiral this country has taken and being called bigoted because I believe in right and wrong. And seeing so many intelligent people who should know the difference between right and wrong condone that which is clearly wrong.
Eyeglasses are not human nor do they do all the things humans do to pervert the world. If I have to explain it, then its hopeless. If people actually don’t see the difference between homosexuals and a pair of eyeglasses, then its just hopeless.
“If homosexuality is a choice, then God must have created us all as bisexuals. Do you believe that? I don’t feel I have a choice. I’m a heterosexual. God made me that way, and I thank Him for it because that means I don’t have to deal with hate from people like you. “
Well said. To my eyes, it seems most people are born with certain looks and their sexual inclinations tend to follow, there is little choice involved: We’ve all seen masculine looking women and effeminate men who, no matter what they do, cannot change to any large extent how they appear or behave. It’s just the way they are. Masculine looking women tend to be lesbians, very effeminate men tend to be gay.
While I strongly dissaprove of promiscuity, I nevertheless feel we should all just live and let live.
A blessed child is one who is sincerely loved by his parents... And that certainly seems to be the case here.
Very good post. I wish I could express myself as well as you do. Its all in my head. I just can’t put it to words. Thank you for your excellent post. But of course, you will have the defenders in here splitting hairs and trying to tear down your excellent analysis.
I can only say that I believe in Gods plan and his plan was male and female. Its the only one that makes any sense.
But if you believe that these gays are all going to get sick and die, then why put up a big stink.
I am not teaching my kids to do whatever “feels good.” Re-read what I wrote. I teach my kids that people are going to do what people have done for centuries. You cannot change that. No matter how hard you try, and no matter how hard you pray. And as long as no one tries to pick my up wearing leather chaps and handcuffs, I am Ok with what they do to each other.
If people want to try to change their behavior, thats cool for them—as long as they do it for their own good.
We are all sinners and if we don’t accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior and turn from sin, we will spend eternity in hell. Thats just a fact and calling me a bad person won’t change that.
I don’t hate Mary Cheney. I love her as a fellow human being and Gods creation but I don’t accept her lifestyle choice as natural and moral. When we oppose immoral behavior, we are called hatemongers.
