Mary Cheney gave birth today to perhaps the most anticipated baby in contemporary U.S. politics -- her first child, Samuel David Cheney, whom she will raise with her longtime partner Heather Poe.
The 8-pound, 6-ounce boy is the sixth grandchild for Dick Cheney.

Yeah, but babies shouldn’t be an avenue . . . .
I have to make one final disagreement, ALL lesbians couples are anti-Christian and anti-family just by their coupling, homosexuals cannot and are not meant to produce a family, but I do agree their gay militancy may vary.
“Pro” is overstated. It is what it is. That’s the world we deal with.
Good Night, WITT (fits well). We can take this up again.
J-
I don’t think most people care one way or the other about Mary C’s baby. If they saw the news story, they probably said “Oh, okay, a little strange (then paused and said) “oh, cute baby!”
This thread is somewhat amusing for all the scolding and handwringing going on
It’s like watching a slow-motion train wreck. I cannot bear away, either.
In a couple days it’ll be old news.
Not sure about the peanut gallery, but WITT and I were having an honest discourse about this. Heartfelt and sincere on both sides. Why the cynicism?
LMAO! You have a good nite too. LOL!
Always easy to stand for nothing, ain’t it? Laugh at the foibles in the ivory tower.
Good night, Man. This was fun and engaging.
Heartfelt and sincere on both sides. Why the cynicism?
because it’s really a private matter. through no fault of their own they are “public people,” but even public people deserve some measure of privacy.
I don’t have much to say when the topic is addressed in the abstract. When it’s attached to actual people I find it a little distasteful.
As you said, it's hypothetical, but even if it were factual, we don't know "the rest of the story". It may have been a blessing...or it may also have been a disaster. So much for lack of facts.
It is not wrong. As to lesbians being inseminated in order to give birth, or homosexuals, male and female, having the right to adopt children, conversatives generally reject such "perversions of the norm".
When Cheney's daughter becomes the focus, notice the liberal attitude of, often, these very same conservatives.
Theyve been together for 16 years.
So? They’ve been immoral for 16 years. Does that make them special?

Nope, it just makes them really perverted.
I hope that you recover well from this. I understand fully that I may be in the same position as you someday.
30% of children are born to single mothers.. I’d guess that 20 to 40% more are born to shitty parents. If I had to choose from being born to shitty parents or two lesbians/gay parents who loved me and showed it, I’d pick the latter in a heartbeat.
Funny, and I relate.. I thought my baby brother was hideous.. He grew into a handsome, strapping man who puts me to shame. I still get the girls who like brains :).
Meant to copy that to you
I wonder what conclusions you draw from that observation?
I have my own, and I promise to give them after you give yours.
They weren’t married; what sort of constitutional amendment do you propose? And do you suspect 3/4 of us would support it?
I think you want to make that ‘60 or ‘64 ;)
