Another Bushwoman on the hot seat
SFGate: The Ross Report ^ | 5/23/7 | Andrew Ross

Next up for an immunity deal, after the the Gonzalez scandal's Monica Goodling, is the Jack Abramoff scandal's (and former Karl Rove top aide) Susan Ralston.

According to today's Wall Street Journal, Ralston is ready to plead the Fifth unless she's given immunity before answering questions from Rep. Henry Waxman's committee about past Abramoff contacts with the White House.

It is the first indication that Abramoff-related probes, mainly limited until now to his dealings with lawmakers and federal agency officials, may be advancing into the White House. says the Journal.

The Rovephobes are still trying to make up for that rotten Fitzmas.

Please, PLEASE continue this. In fact, start impeachment. We want to see the Dems pull everything out of their playbook, so that everyone can see them for what they are.

Kind of a grainy photo. But what I can see: NOT GUILTY!

They’re still talking about this? As scandals go, the Bush Administration is pretty weak.

I’m sure Ms. Ralston has nothing juicy to tell. It has become standard procedure for anyone dealing with the democrats to plead the fifth or insist on immunity. No one in the White House is dumb enough to get caught in the infamous Perjury Trap.

I recall seeing an "analysis" in the last month or two that suggests the fallout from the Scooter Libby "conviction" will be that attorneys will now start recommending that their clients plead the fifth all the time.

That way, they won't get sent up the river on a process crime, having simply either made a mistake in their sworn testimony or inadvertently given false information.

After Scooter and M. Stewart, it certainly makes sense to me.

If this is true, they've (and you know you "they" are) essentially neutered the criminal justice system with their political witch hunts.

All these immunity deals should be referred to as “Scooter Immunity.” Nobody wants to say anything and risk future purgery indictments over a mis-remembered detail.

It never ceases to amaze me the quantity and quality a Democrat is capable of whining.  Poor, poor Carol Lam lost her job and she was a wonderful United States Attorney they say.  Well they can cry me a freakin' river!  If John Kerry would have been elected in 2004, all of these U.S. Attorneys would have been fired on January 20th 2005.  At least she lived off the government teat for an extra two years.

The leftists are beginning to resemble some of us here at FR who would reflexively lick our collective chops whenever a new Clinton scandal was exposed ("this is the BIG ONE. The REAL DEAL. No escaping this time, Billy Boy"). It's nice to know the shoe's on the Left foot for a change.
