As a small boy I grew up through scouting, and as cubs, boy scouts and Explorers, we were always a part of every parade that went through our small town of 7,000 (in the 60s and 70s). The parade would always end at a shaded, grassy front lawn of an elementary school, where, particularly on Memorial Day, local dignitaries would wax poetic for an hour or so about how we owe so much to those who went before us and died for our freedoms. I believed them--rightly so--and grew to get goose bumps thinking how great what they did was.

I can scarcely believe I'm reading these anti-American news items, and am flat-out gob smacked that a person espousing such views would even get the slightest consideration as a potential Commander in Chief and President! I'm confident such a person wouldn't ever have gotten one vote from those who ever congregated on our elementary school front lawn after such a parade.

Does Edwards really truly believe that as President & CiC he can inspire the military to succeed in a time of war when he proposes these nutty anti-war ideas? Unlike a lot of post-9/11 voters and democrats in general, the Military has a long memory. They haven't forgotten what it's like to be butt-raped by Clinton.

Or is he so phenomenally stupid & short-sighted that it hasn't occurred to him yet?
