“between Paul and Tancredo”-—yes, both of who are honorable men unafraid to take an unpopular stand. But neither of them will in fact even make it to the bottom half of the Republican ticket. Giuliani seized the moment and created a juicy soundbite for himself and his followers when he took Paul to task for what he said, but of course, Giuliani was only interested in demagoguing the issue, not in elaborating on what Paul was saying/ A more likely Republican ticket might be one that has a chance of winning. Like Romney/Thompson, or Romney/Hunter. All three of them have expressed considerably more realistic assessments of both Illegal Immigration AND Islamic Jihadism, and virtually ALL the rest just sound like “politicians”. Romney will be the nominee, if the RNC knows where its future lies.
If Romney is the nominee and wins, I predict that within one year the conservatives who backed him will be more disappointed that those who had backed Nixon in 1968 or GWB in 2000.
