What happens if we do crush this bill? They are still in power! 20 million still here! We already have one foot of the cliff and we are now in the middle of lifting the other...

“Why, then, are our elites taking it?”

I have been asking the same question....i don’t have a pat answer for it....it’s either all politics or some unforseen goal.

Pat is the only one with the balls to talk about these issues honestly. The rest of the pundits tip toe around the political correctness fire as if they fear for their lives.

One criticism, though. My main concern isn't the white to non-white ratio, as seems to be Pat's. It's the rate of immigration vs. the rate of assimilation, coupled with the rise of identity politics which seeks to capitalize on that disparity.

Correct.

Some estimates are 30 million.

Instead of continuing this parade of pandering, offering amnesty, and selling citizenship we should be enforcing our borders and laws.

Those who were paid and delegated to protect our borders should be held responsible and made example of.

Americans have said they do not want to take this risk with their country. Why, then, are our elites taking it?

All humans are, to a greater or lesser extent, ethnocentric (Hooray for my tribe, boo for yours). Some people derive enormous gratification from denying this. If it's permissable to prefer one's family to other groups, why not one's extended family? Where are the lines drawn, and by whom?

Buchanan is like some voice of Reason in a madhouse.

They are 'elite' only in position, but in behavior they are sub human. It is their lust for greed and self preservation, not for the betterment of their country and to serve their citizens that they 'take it'.

The only way to insure these men do not follow through on their baser instincts is to threaten them with the two things that they will do anything to preserve--threaten the end of their job (power) or just take it away and put them in a position never to profit. Since there seems little to prevent the latter we must push for the former and not flinch. Period.

Would we just let someone come into our home and take everything we have worked hard for and push around and eradicate the future of those we love with out a fight? I wouldn't. These 'elites'--the self serving putz(es)--need a gun to their heads and clear direction from us the people of the United States of America. That gun is the threat or loss of their jobs if they don't amend the foreign born law to exclude illegal entry parents and two ship em all out, every last one they can grab the scruff of. We seriously need to secure our borders. We let people in, in a legal timely process that includes the path to citizenship, which additionally includes learning English, American history as it was taught in the 60's not by some liberal, 'Marxist's rise up' latest interpretation, and they need to take civil classes and be tested on the subject matter regarding the United States of America.

Unless that foreign born law is addressed we will always have serious problems. Also a new study by the Heritage Foundation showed that illegals on average got basically $19,000 a year from the government. What American would not like to have a gift of $19,000 a year from another country that we invaded and pooed on their soil and society? Nope. This game stops here. It is fight time folks.

It's the rate of immigration vs. the rate of assimilation

I think Bill Bennett has said something to the affect, it's not the immigrants you have to worry about so much, but what America i.e. the lefties will indoctrinate them with once they get here.

I don't normally listen to Hannity, but I heard a snippet of his radio show today. A caller called in and was saying pretty much what Pat Buchanan was saying in this article. Hannity didn't want to touch that with a 10 foot pole--went off into something about poverty and Mexico and how it's understanable that these people want to better their lives.

This bill stinks and so does the status quo.

It all boils down to this.

If Pat would just be more open about his racism, he’d probably get a lot more followers. In no way am I suggesting by the way that anti-illegal immigration= racism. I’m just saying Pat Buchanan is an Eastern Elite White Supremacist. The party of Mel Martinez, Ken Blackwell and Michael Steele has no place for him, as we made clear in 2000. To add insult to injury, he supports Ron Paul.

When he’s right, he’s right. I’m pretty disgusted with the whole thing right now :(

It seems to me that Pat is making some valid points in this article. Instead of just attacking Pat as a “racist,” tell us how Pat is wrong here.

Pointing out facts about different race’s, and cultural values & how it effects America is not raciest. It’s just not PC. He is pointing out how elitist culture relativism (multiculturalism) has proved to be a failure & overtaken our successful melting pot society. If anything la raza (the race) are the racist.

It would seem to me that Mexicans are the only ones left who believe in this country.

You're full of crap, you know that right?

The party of Mel Martinez, Ken Blackwell and Michael Steele has no place for him, as we made clear in 2000.

Mel Martinez has been an utter failure and is one of the biggest cheerleaders for this immigration bill. And Blackwell and Steele, while both nice, lost. Did you forget that? They aren't in power. Wish they were, but they're not.

To add insult to injury, he supports Ron Paul.

GASP! Ron Paul! That evil man doesn't support endless wars for global democracy and is the only candidate to openly call for getting rid of the department of education! And he wants spending reined in! And he has the highest rating on gun rights of any member of congress! And he actually gives more than lip service to the U.S. Constition! Oh the humanity!

Seriously though, it's not Rudy Giuliani or John McCain he's supporting, it's Ron Paul. If it was Giuliani he was supporting, than I really would think Buchanan was a moron.

I like Ron Paul a lot. I'm still undecided who I'll vote for in the republican primary. It's between Paul and Tom Tancredo.
