“I’m convinced GW had a lot of Mexicans “help” growing up and it made a life long impression on him. A life long desire to help these people come here for better lives”

Yeah, and so we, the American people, have to pay for Bush’s personal crusade to help Latinos. Great. He’s totally egocentric about immigration and his country will suffer for it.

RINOS must pay. They cannot be reelected. Cut off all funds, start working against them now.

Even a democrat is better that a RINO?

I am not embarrassed to say that I think we need to suspend immigration for a while. Look at what is happening in Maine with the Somalis. We really need to look at what we are doing. Am I totally against immigration, NO. But we have to re-evaluate how we are doing it. Doing it for the sake of diversity is ridiuculous. Doing to to allow good people to become part of our culture, who desire to become Americans and be an asset to our country, I have no problem with. The selection process needs to be reworked.

Alberto Gonzales is a great example.
Anyway I'm on your side. Build a fence and get rid of illegal aliens via attrition due to workplace enforcement and other measures. But I would have 1.5 million person guest worker for farming and food processors. Keep them in business otherwise this will move to Mexico. We get too much Mexican and Central American produce as it is. Those Chinese snow peas usually come from Central America these days

This is all under our insane refugee program. We have 10,000 Burundian refugees coming in. We have more African refugees coming in because of cave ins to the Black Caucus in Congress. Senator Sam Brownback too, a major promoter of refugees here though he always keeps them from settling in his home state of Kansas. They felt we were short changed by not enough Africans coming here to live. Which is bull. We get lots of Nigerians, I've met some, and other African immigrants

We really need to look at what we are doing. Am I totally against immigration, NO. But we have to re-evaluate how we are doing it. Doing it for the sake of diversity is ridiuculous.

Senator Kennedy's 1965 immigration bill changed everything. It promoted 3rd world immigration and killed European immigration. Since 1965 immigration has been 90% from the 3rd world and that doesn't count illegal immigration. There are no skills tests for immigrants, family reunification has gone wild. Your odds of getting here legally are fantastic if you are Mexican and have a relative here. Mexico sends us the most legal immigrants and the most illegal ones too.

Doing to to allow good people to become part of our culture, who desire to become Americans and be an asset to our country, I have no problem with. The selection process needs to be reworked.

Vote ‘em out. Party affiliation be damned.

“I really don’t understand why lefties are so unhappy—everything is drifting their way.”

At this rate in ten years you won’t be able to tell the difference between an elected Dem and an elected Republican. Our party is drifting left fast. So many of them seem to think the lesson of the last election is that left-wing politics win. What the lesson is is that they ran a terrible unfocused campaign and folks were getting turned off by a decade of poor governance and an inability to control spending with both houses of congress and the White House under Republican control.
