You’re right... but I was thinking, the amnesty bill will sway more of the latino population who are US citizens to the Democratic voter base. I believe Bush got 40% of the latino vote in 2004 and the Democrats are probably banking on being able to pick up a chunk of that with the new amnesty bill.

The good news Tom is that Hispanics have lower participation rate in elections than any other group. In 2004 only 9 millions voters out of 122 millions were Hispanics. In 2008 it is not going to change. Even if democrats win 65% of their vote versus 55% of the Hispanic vote they won in 2004, it will not make that difference.

I am sure you know that non of the illegal immigrants will become citizen in 2008, not in 2012, and not even in 2016.
