Sheets is actually making a point of decorum to note the correct and proper method of voting. It is funny if it wasn’t so damn important.
In this case, he’s noting the voting was done against the standards of voting from the “assigned” desk in the Senate. He says that this is a “standard order” and giving the reason for it.
It’s like he’s making a last stand on how the monstrosity was foisted on us.
Not giving me any confidence.

I guess from what has been said there is no time limit imposed, so I guess another cloture vote will be necessary before debate ceases. Peculiar cloture motion

“1. MYTH: This is amnesty.
FACT: Amnesty is the forgiveness of an offense without penalty. This proposal is not amnesty because illegal workers must acknowledge that they broke the law, pay a $1,000 fine, and undergo criminal background checks to obtain a Z visa granting temporary legal status.”
FACT1: “not amnesty” is semantics because the punishment for being in this country illegally is a simple one: DEPORTATION. However, those who break the law in this manner are not deported. This is akin to a bank robber stealing a $100,000 from a bank. They get to keep the $100,000 but pay a fine of $5,000. Have they been truly ‘punished’? hardly. Even legal visa application like H1-B cost thousands of dollars, so $5,000 is less of a punishment than a processing fee.
FACT2: Three are loopholes, whereby criminals *WILL* get the Z vias if they “only” have a few misdemeanors on their record or the background check takes more than 24 hours.

Is there any limit on the number of amendments to be submitted?

Bernie Sanders voted NO, I as surprised. Kay Baily Hutchinson voted NO, another r surprise. This morning she was on Fox on CNBC defending the “compromise” saying don’t worry, this time there will be strong workplace enforcement (right!), but she hung back and was the last to vote. She probably had a deal that she’d vote NO unless her YES vote was needed. No profile in courage.
