Monday, 1:00 p.m.: Convene and resume consideration of the motion to proceed to S. 1348, the Comprehensive Immigration Legislation.
“Myth/Fact: Ten Key Myths About the Border Security and Immigration Reform Agreement” by the White House
The Dims and `pubs can call it pecan divinity if they like, but if the WH and Congress are not prepared to vote money for 1.) securing our southwestern border—and I mean *actually* damming the flood of Mexicans coming into our country—and 2.) presenting `pay-as-we-go’ bills to Mexico for reimbursement of the total construction cost (to the American taxpayers) and for maintenance (when their citizens damage the fences, sensors, etc.) and then—and only then-going forward with amnesty `brain-storming’..... well,
then it’s spinach and I say to hell with it. I won’t support any plan that `front-loads’ amnesty and no American should.
But that’s all the Beltway crowd wants, really: amnesty, and as soon as they get it the border will remain porous and we will be counting down the years until the next “comprehensive immigration reform” with the same `sturm and drang’ for our children.
And this s***’s for the birds.
President Bush, this is America, not Mexico, and we shouldn’t have to remind you of that fact. How about starting to act like you’re more concerned for our best interests?
I got a problem with that procedure. Unless it is well known that this measure will fail once it comes to a vote, this is just a way to pretend to be against but really to see that it passes. Cloture must Fail. Once the democrats have an ability to vote on this bill, they will most likely pass it.
You'd think that the IRS would be intently interested in that list, wouldn't you?
Yes. His write-up of last years McCain-Kennedy ‘Amnesty’ was excellent. I’m waiting for him to get to the tax and welfare aspects of this one.
Corker asking for delay.
that must be Vitter? I called his office this morning and gave them and earful. A staffer came right out and said the Senator is against amnesty. But the staffer couldn't say how Vitter was going to vote!! I wont believe this abomination is dead to the votes are counted. Washington is filled with slime.

Sessions is continuing to flog this thing to death. Should get the Medal of Honor, or whatever the civilian equivalent is.
They should be fitted with cement scuba gear.
Yes, they all know the meaning of Herndon.
Without any proof, I had the feeling that Herndon shook Capitol Hill pols down to the bottom of their boots.

National anti-immigration groups warned politicians yesterday that Tuesday’s election in Herndon was the beginning of a voter backlash against local and federal immigration policy.
“Politicians across the country should take note of the results of this election,” said Chris Simcox, president of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, an organization that patrols the U.S.-Mexico border. The group’s Herndon allies videotaped hiring activity at a day labor center created to help immigrant workers find employment.
I haven’t yet been able to get through to my two useless Dumbators (Boxer and Di Fi), but did just get off the phone with the local office of my rep, Filner. The young man answering the phone could not tell me the COngressman’s position on this bill, but put me through to a person who could (ended up being voice mail). But, it sounded like mine was not the only phone call they had gotten today.

God bless Robert Rector.
I called my other senator, Landrieu (D) I called three times and each time let it ring for over a minute. There was never an answer. I sent an email to her office. They are getting lots of calls, that is good. I emailed everyone I know and told them to call their senators and representatives. I have never been so upset in my life. I plan more calls later. We can't let up.
“Im so appalled. I have to hit the phones yet again!”
me too!! Only this time, I’m going to ask if both of my senators were PRESENT during Sessions’ presentation, especially Voinovich who needs to LISTEN.
I heard him on Mark's show last week. It was wonderful to hear a reasoned and calm explanation of this terrible bill. I wish all of America could hear what he as to say.
Unless, of course, she just took the phones off the hook.
