It's a honor to be with you and be with people who exemplify the pro-life values throughout their lives.
"I believe it's an honor to receive this award, as you can imagine.
"I recognize that it is awarded for where I am on the issue of life, not for where I've been.
"And I respect the fact that you arrived at this place of principle a long, long time ago.
"And I appreciate the fact that you're inclined to honor someone who arrived here only a few years ago.
"I'm evidence that your work, that your relentless campaign to promote the sanctity of human life, bears fruit.
"And I do follow, as Kevin indicated, a long line of converts - George Herbert Walker Bush, Henry Hyde, Ronald Reagan. Each of them made meaningful contributions to this cause.
"It is instructive to see the double standard at work here. When a pro-life figure changes to pro-choice, it hardly gets a mention. But when someone becomes pro-life, the pundits go into high dudgeon.

There you go with that crystal ball again! LOL
no, you spin the evidence...
you are just doing what the darkside does to all of us in our minds...playing back a past sin regardless of a change of heart. Everyone has held bad beliefs at one point in their lives and so many people are never humble enough to admitt that they were dupped as Romney has been. I think you are just on a self righteous high horse. You probably need to get more of a life.
He was “dupped” for over thirty-five years? LOL...funny.
Is that better or worse than his RINO daddy who claimed he'd been brainwashed?
Touche!
yeah, mister know it all about Romney’s true motives...it is pretty easy to have a bad belief for a long time and then come to your senses. Because Romney didn’t believe that abortion should be outlawed for however long it was does in no way make his change of heart not true. Since when does God put a limit of time on us before we may be willing to accept what he shows us?...other than death, of course.
You misunderstand. We’re not talking about the man’s personal salvation. We’re talking about his supposed “conversion” to the conservative cause.
And it is too “convenient” and self-serving by far to be real. There are way too many clues that it is a “conversion on the road to Des Moines,” and done just to fool people.
We’ve seen this before, and we would be complete fools to buy it.
Actually, I don't. I think he's an utter fraud.
I just continue to make the point that even if it were real, [even though I don’t believe it for a second, consdering all the facts] he’s still not qualified to lead.
“Lay hands suddenly on no man,” the Scripture says. You just don’t launch new converts into leadership. It’s dangerous to the flock, and even more perilous to the new convert, even if they’re real.
So, if Hillary Clinton made an earnest-sounding pro-life “conversion” tomorrow [even though it was incomplete and obviously contrived for political gain], you’d support her for President?
