JImmy Carter made me a Republican. As a open minded college kid, I gained a strong dislike for his defeatist, sweater wearing persona.
His cowardice with Iran sealed it.
And then I moved to San Francisco and heard a young Barbara Boxer speak at a Dukakis rally that I happened to wander by.
Babs Boxer further enriched my opinion of Democrats.
I (and my wife’s) was probably the only Bush 1 vote cast in the Haight Asbury polling station that we voted at.
