Off to church to pray for America and the louder voices of those that appreciate the goodness of this great nation.

I find the demographic changes that are happening to be staggering. Yet, very few in the MSM or politicians seem to be aware of them or are reluctant to speak about them for fear being called racist or a xenophobe. Since 1970, we have added 100 million people; since 1990, 53 million, and since 2000, 20 million. The Census bureau projects we will have 364 million by 2030, which means we will add another 63 million in the next 23 years or the equivalent of the current population of the UK or about twice the current population of Canada.

"As a result of immigration and higher birthrates among many newcomers, the number of Hispanics grew by 3.4 percent nationwide and Asians by 3.2 percent. Meanwhile, the black population rose by 1.3 percent, and that of non-Hispanic whites by 0.3 percent. (The number of American Indians and Alaska Natives increased by 1 percent, and Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders by 1.7 percent.)"

"More than 20 percent of children in the United States either are foreign-born or have a parent who was born abroad. Nearly half the children under age 5 are Hispanic, black or Asian."

If this present immigratin bill passes, our legal immigration rates will triple from one million annually to three million for more than a decade. This will increase the population projections even more.

In 1950, there were 16 workers paying Social Security taxes for every retired person receiving benefits. Today there are 3.3. By 2030, there will be only 2. 48 million Americans receive Social Security benefits, including 33 million retirees, 7 million survivors, and 8 million disabled workers. By 2030, there will be 70 million Americans of retirement age--twice as many as today. If nothing is done, by 2060, the combination of Social Security and Medicare will account for more than 71 percent of the federal budget.

I view the public policy issues of immigration and enttilement reform the two greatest threats to the future of our nation, more than the threat of militant Islamic fundamentalism.
