Conservative bloggers throughout the Internet went postal on McCain yesterday and today.
I believe I heard "stick a fork in him" referring to Guiliani. Does this mean McCain joins him at the discount buffet?
Delightful post...thanks! :-)
McCain is just wasting his time, there is no way on earth that he will be the nominee. Frankly Ron Paul has better chances, but the likely nominee will be Fred Thompson.
As far as I can see, there aren’t more than two or three McCain fans in all of FreeRepublic. Just about everyone here dislikes him, and he has never gotten anywhere in the candidate votes.
Yes, we give credit where credit is due, and for once McCain did the right thing speaking out on the Iraq War. But there was never a time when I, or I think most of us, would have considered voting for him.
The guy is a total egotist and nutcase.
If McCain weren’t old, mean and crazy, he’d make a great president.
But after a few months learning more about Rudy, well, Rudy managed to make McCain seem palatable by comparision.
But after this shamnesty, I couldn't vote for either. They BOTH are in favor of shamnesty, and they BOTH lie through their teeth when they say it isn't shamnesty.
And Romney? Well, just 18 months ago, he was claiming amnesty wasn't amnesty either. At least he's come around, although with Romney, you can't tell whether it is heartfelt or just opportunistic.
Which leaves Fred, who understands that we have to have border security first. And Hunter, who is solid on this issue but going nowhere.
He is also:
1. The enemy of free speech.
2. Pro-amnesty on illegal aliens.
3. Pro-tax.
4. And, thus, pro-big government.
5. Not to mention thoroughly corruptible.
6. And not firmly reliable on the abortion issue.
But I would agree that McCain probably is all these things because, after all, he IS "a total egoist and nutcase".
Which leaves Fred, who understands that we have to have border security first. And Hunter, who is solid on this issue but going nowhere.
My preference is coalescing around this trio, as well. As of now, I believe I could enthusiasticly support any of the three.
I'm inclined to cut Romney some slack precisely because he is a Morman. Within my experience, Mormans are uniformly among the most honest and straightforward people I've ever met. Consequently, I assign more credibility to Romney's turnaround than I would to a run-of-the-mill politician's.
Giuliani made some windy but vague comments about the immigration bill, but frankly they were incoherent comments (I think deliberately so) and didn't provide much of a window into Giuliani's position.
My answer - GO AWAY - you're old enough to be the greeter at Walmart.
I’ve been a Giuliani and a Romney supporter. But the more I see and hear of Fred Thompson, the more I like him.
But Fred better get in the race NLT Sept.
Songbird McCain ping :-) LOL
One down, one to go.
You listening Rudy ? ;-)
Can you imagine the NUKE that went off over the top of his pointed little head when he realized the pile of crap he had stepped over this amnesty deal with the GOP base? I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall to have seen that show.
I am sure it was epic as he watched his candicy circle the drain.
If he wasn’t smart enough to know that this would finish him, he’s too stupid to be wasting good oxygen.
You have got to wonder just what in the hell he was thinking!
That nobody would notice?
It’s over McCain.
McShame is a whore for the MSM. It’s all about lil Johnney.
Did Rudy come out in support of this proposal?
