Quite a society Great Britain has become....Sir Winston would be very sad.

During WWII Americans loaned personal weapons to the English for the purpose of giving the Nazis a really warm welcome if they had invaded. Can you imagine how much hate and discontent that would stir up today?

Fascinating...I hadn't heard that before.  See what a 'public school education' can omit?  A wonderful sentiment, however and a testament to the strength of the people on both sides of the pond.

Can you imagine how much hate and discontent that would stir up today?

It would likely be welcomed by the older members of the civilian public but would be viewed as an act of war by their Government.
