Senator Shelbys statement:
Although a bill has not yet been released, I have serious concerns about early reports of the legislation, including the status of illegal immigrants already in this country. Make no mistake about it -- I will continue to oppose any proposal that rewards those who have broken the law to enter this country.

U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) made the following comments today regarding comprehensive immigration reform legislation in the Senate:
"I will not vote for, and will actively oppose, immigration legislation that does not meet the expectations of the American people on important issues such as border security, citizenship, and a transition to a merit-based 'points' system.
"I am deeply concerned with the compromise announced yesterday. Both the process by which the bill will be considered in the Senate and the content of the proposal are troubling. Supporting an agreement on such a complex and important issue cannot be justified when legislation has not yet been written. I will be carefully reading the bill, expected to be about 800 pages, to determine whether the details of the legislation have merit."
“Supporting an agreement on such a complex and important issue cannot be justified”. “Important”....yes, “Complex”....no. Just send them all back and lock the border until our Congress figures things out. I don’t see anything complex about it.
hopefully these two and some of the others who say similar things are serious about it, and will work the senate parliamentarian overtime to put a stop to this monstrous legislation.....the sunday morning talking-head shows should be worth watching tomorrow
“I dont see anything complex about it.”
Right! Compare the cost to the American people if this atrocity passes vs enforcing current immigration laws, closing the border and telling them to go home. IMO, the latter is money well spent.
I am more impressed by the statement of Jeff Sessions. He is my hero. That man will, if necessary, keep the floor of the senate until hell freezes over in an old fashioned filibuster to stop this insane Kennedy-McCain-Bush criminal legislation.
Now why don't you folks in South Carolina do something about that POS Lindsay Graham?
Sessions is amazing. Why doesn’t he run for president?

You’re lucky...how would you like to have Feinstein and Boxer? It’s hopeless for us in CA so all we can do is encourage smart Senators like yours...originally from AL myself...and try to get to others who just might listen. Please send one more email each to Shelby and Sessions for me...”still a Southerner at heart.”
Believe me, we're trying.
Great, he's a senator and he hasn't been able to see it either.
I feel for California. I believe that state has fallen irreparably into the hands of the socialists via past amnesties and illegally voting aliens. Unless this amnesty is stopped the red states will join with the socialist Left and Northeast coasts.
Anyone who can truly face what has happened in the state of Cali and support the national GOP slide into amnesty is clearly wicked.
Will do....Jeff Sessions is one of the best Senators in the country...i may be biased....he’s a smart guy and well grounded.
God Bless Senator Sessions. Give that man plenty of coffee so he can filibuster this worthless roll of toilet paper of a bill.
I agree Session deserves thanks.
