Support for the Saudi plan to resolve the conflict with Israel, safeguarding Lebanons sovereignty, Irans right to access nuclear technology for peaceful use, no to Muslim peacekeepers in Iraq, and self determination for Kashmir.
Islamabad (AsiaNews/Agencies) Lebanese sovereignty, peace in Palestine, self-determination for Kashmir and a nuclear Iran, solutions to the conflict in Sudan and the occupation of Iraq, through dialogue and strong condemnation of Islamaphobia. Great and sweeping declarations of principal are carried in the final document of the 34th conference of foreign ministers from the Organisation of Islamic Conferences, which closet yesterday in Islamabad.
The summit however failed to reach what at first appeared its original objective: a new constitutional charter for the Organisation. Some States, in fact, requested more time in order to examine the documents implications.
For the most part the document explores the most pressing issues for the Islamic world today, starting from the commitment to the promotion of global peace and security, which can be achieved through just and peaceful resolution of international disputes and ending situations of foreign occupation.
For the Middle East the conference welcomed the renewal of the Saudi initiative for peace with Israel, and emphasized that the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Lebanon must be fully respected, expressing full support to the government and people of Lebanon and hoped for the reduction of tensions and resolution of differences concerning Irans nuclear program through dialogue. We oppose the use of force - said the declaration - which will further destabilize the region. We recognize Irans right to the peaceful use of nuclear energy and its readiness for the peaceful resolution of all issues,.
Pakistan President Gen. Pervez Musharrafs proposal for a Muslim peacekeeping force in Iraq was rejected, however. We have reservations on this proposal - said Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari - We cannot welcome any more foreign troops.
Regarding the rest of the Islamic World, the document affirms its support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their inalienable right to self-determination, while supporting progress in talks with India and Pakistan and asks the international community to support efforts for national reconciliation in Sudan.
The declaration in conclusion, condemns islamaphobia and calls on the international community to to prevent incitement to hatred and discrimination against Muslims and take effective measures to combat defamation of religions and acts of negative stereotyping of people based on religion, belief or ethnicity,.
No mention of religious freedom :-(
Total and complete claptrap to allay the fears of us Dhimmis while they prepare to slit our throats.
A “phobia” is defined as an UNREALISTIC FEAR. Therefore, the term “islamophobia” is a misnomer because fear of Islam is REALISTIC after the events of 9/11, the British attack on 7/7 and muslim mongrels walking around carrying signs saying “behead those who insult islam”.
They can take their islamophobic conference and shove it.
Ditto.
Just out of curiousity, how do millions of Catholic (illegal-soon-to-be-legal-due-to-government-pandering) hispanics feel about converting to Islam and wearing burqas?
Just wondering.
How about a condemnation of the terrorism done in the name of their religion?
“’T’is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”
Well the Muzzies have been recruiting in Southern Mexico, and northern central American countries. They tell the poor and ignorant folks there that the Catholic Church denies them their true heritage as Muslims. Remember that Spain and Portugal were once الأندلس (al-andalus), the last muzzies not being pushed out of Spain until 1492.
You can see that in some of the differences between Spanish and Italian for example. You can also see it in the architecture of both Spain and her former American Colonies.
So the Muzzies are a jump ahead of you.
They are also involved in South American, particularly the Tri-Border region of Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil.
BTW, not all Mexicans are Roman Catholic. According to the CIA the religious breakdown is:
Roman Catholic 76.5%, Protestant 6.3% (Pentecostal 1.4%, Jehovah's Witnesses 1.1%, other 3.8%), other 0.3%, unspecified 13.8%, none 3.1% (2000 census)
Having just looked that up, rather than relying on memory, I'm surprised the fraction that is Catholic is as low as it is, and really surprised that only about 1/4 of those non catholics is Protestant What do you suppose most of that "unspecified" 13.8% might be..hmm?
In reality they are probably about as likely to have a true heritage as Jews. The Jews of Spain were tolerated under the Muzzies, while the Christians who reconquered Spain were less tolerant, forcing many to convert. Some, maybe a lot, only converted on the surface, but remained "secret" Jews at home. Many of those would have moved to the Spanish colonies in the Americas.
