You must not have had McDonalds coffee for a few years. It used to be the worst but is now one of the better coffees.
They have switched to a gourmet blend. Here in the Northwest it is “Seattle Finest”.
The woman that sued was buying the old bad stuff by the way.
We still sell a 12 oz., double Americano, for a buck fifty. All our shots are doubles. Why fool around? Shoot, all our 20 oz. sized drinks come as a "quad", unless somebody doesn't want that much caffeine, in which case we offer one of the doubles be decaf. Decaf can actually be pretty good, if one is careful enough in the choosing of which green, un-roasted coffee to buy. I'm not even gonna say what we've been using... the last time I did that about a particular bean, Starbucks went and bought out the whole damn county-of-origin's supply! Pissed me off, to no end.
Proud to have never set foot in a Starbucks.
Never will, neither.
Yeah, well, up here in Seattle, the "Mom & Pop" coffeehouses are a) more likely to be "Mom & Mom" and b) have politics that make Starbucks look like the John Birch Society.
neither have I.
As a former Seattle resident, I must agree.
I brew two cups of coffee in the morning. One goes into the thermos and that goes into the car. When it's time for my "coffee break," I pick a nice quiet spot in a park, pour my coffee, open my novel and say ah.
They are expanding, because they had previously retracted. I guess they think most Texans will by now, have forgotten how horrible they were.
McDonalds needs to make a Caramel Macchiato. Then Ill convert.”
For the price of the Caramel Macchiato “coffee” drink, you can get a whole jar of caramel and a spoon.
I checked it out. Thanks for the helpful information.
Sounds pretty good. But I do like the paper, just so I can quickly toss it, without having to deal with loose grounds... Sometimes I’ve gotta brew and cup out a half-dozen cups at a time.
2. Starbucks makes bad coffee. That's reason enough to refuse to buy.
Re. Item No. 2, I regularly see posts from people who have had very little choice in coffee vendors, who are thankful for a Starbucks. I can only say that I feel their pain, but given more choices, there IS better coffee out there. If brewed right, you can find better at the supermarket.
Way back when I first started grinding and brewing my morning coffee, Mr. Peet was still in his store at Peet's Walnut Square in Berkeley. I asked him what would be the best way to go. In a nutshell, he told me the only reason he stocked all those expensive, fancy brewing gadgets was because people wanted them. He advised me to go with the simplest and cheapest over the long run, which turned out to be the Rittergold filter. Thirty years later, I'm still using the same one I bought from him.
I love it!
I forgot to add that I never throw coffee grounds in the trash or down the drain. I use them to boost the nitrogen in the garden soil. Excess grounds go into the compost heap.
Perfect!
Well... I hope they come east.
Me neither. But then I've never bought any of their coffee.
The worst by far was the one I've gotten a couple times now in the past few weeks. I wish I could tell you what it said, but my Spanish is rusty.
