The commander of the Intelligence Center and Fort Huachuca is restricting soldiers' assigned to the fort from traveling into Mexico.
Additionally, Maj. Gen. Barbara Fast is advising Army civilian personnel and family members of military and civilians to be careful.
Following is her message:
"In view of the recent increase in drug-related violence just across the Mexican border near the towns of Cananea and Naco, until further notice, I am directing that all military personnel and strongly advising all Department of the Army civilian personnel and their families to restrict their travel by avoiding the border towns of Mexico. If you or your families are traveling near the border on the US side, please use caution."
I think my San Diego cousin got this warning LOL! if he was still living in San Diego right now he is in Japan on base
bttt...(I’ll let someone else say it)
Caution on OUR side?
Amnesty Never!!!!! why do we have to put up with this crap?
This happened back when I was in the USMC. Back then they were kidnapping soldiers and holding them for ransom. The main difference being we were allowed to hang out in Mexico during daylight hours, but we had to be back before dark.

polio from infested illegal aliens and terrorists.
Just doing the jobs that Americans wont do...because they are more moral than the immigrants.
I swear to God, if Bush signs this in, I will never defend him again for anything.
I nver thought I would say this, but I agree with you.
Oreilly on the radio said “there is no other plan!”
Well, the jerk would not give credit to Neal Boortz whose plan is simple:
1. Hit the employers of illegals with hard draconian punishments for hiring them so the illegals can;’t get jobs.
2. have private US companies sign up Mexicans in mexico for temporary visas for specific job requests in the US and transport them here. have our corproations pay the wages to these companies and the hiring companies pay the workers.
3. when their time for the job is finished, they get transportation back to Mexico.
4. Seal the border really tight...like 99%.
that is just using the laws we have on the books now!
These people are just running the drugs, and killing those who get in their way, that Americans refuse to... you know, just looking for a better way of life.
Yep, a life that their own communist government couldn't give them, so they'll have a communist government installed here. Looks like they've got Washington in line.
Eh, Lindsay? Viva La Raza baby!
(for those in any doubt, duh....</sarc>)
The wild rhetoric we have by some on the right regarding GWB is not helpful...and puts a segment of our base with the ilk of the loony DEMs.
As for this bill itself, the more I hear and read it is very unlikely to make it out of Congress. It probably only has a 20/30% chance to make it out of the House and maybe a 50/50 chance in the Senate.
Though I don't mind the Z-Status (as long as those of such a status DON'T have a right to vote).
With the fake documents and identification market out there....this simply isn't possible or justified to go after businesses/ private sector. This is a 30yr in the making Gov't (Federal and State) issue....that some are suggesting punishing those in the private sector for not correcting.
That is foolishness. We'd have businesses spending millions trying to verify real from fake ID/documents.
Maybe it’s time to annex Mexico...
Do you really believe that won't be coming next after this is signed. Really?
All that will be coming after this is signed is another 50 million of them to suck what’s left of the feral trough (and your savings, retirement, and wages) dry.
This is good. When the American tourists stops going to Mexico, the Mexican govt will finally find the cojones that they need to stop the drug violence.
