Rush: Immigration Bill Will Kill GOP
NewsMax.com ^ | May 18, 2007 | staff

Supporters call it a Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill, but top radio talker Rush Limbaugh has another name for it. He calls it the "Comprehensive Destroy the Republican Party Bill."

During Friday's syndicated broadcast of the Rush Limbaugh program, Rush criticized the Senate's immigration proposal as liberalism gone wild.

"Liberals are trying to tear this country down institution by institution and rebuild it in their own image, and this is one of the steps that they are trying to make it happen," he said.

Rush warned that if this bill comes out of the Senate in its present form - and it's highly doubtful that it will - the liberals in the House will not vote for it. He said the politicians realize that there are Democrats in California, Arizona, Texas and Virginia where illegal immigration is a red hot issue and a vote for this bill would be political suicide.

As for Republicans, they have already lost California, Rush reminded his listeners. If they lose Virginia and lose Florida, it's all over for the GOP as far as elections go. And being blamed for this immigration bill could cost them both states.

Rush explained that this is why Senate Democrats want Republicans to receive "credit" for passing this bill.

"It's a piece of legislation that hardly anybody has ever seen," he said, yet already "there are walls of opposition that are being built on all sides of this."

The bill, he warned, will create "a brand new, giant welfare state paid by the rest of us," yet illegal immigrants are telling the media: "'I don't like this. I don't like having to go home. I don't want to pay these fines.'"

They needn't worry, Rush said. The illegals will not be forced to go home at all. They are not going to pay any fines. It's not going to happen because there is no political will to do so.

"Once this bill passes they'll be talking about how if you have to go home it will split up families and they'll say the fines would be taking food out of the mouths of poor children by making the parents pay these ridiculous fines," Rush told his audience.

Speaking of why any Republicans are supporting the bill, Rush explained: "You could legalize rape in this country if you simply called it the Civil Rights Act of 2007 because nobody on Capitol Hill has the guts to vote against anything that claims to be broadening or creating civil rights. It's a code word."

Truth be told, all your lives have been better because of the illegal immigrant..

Waiting for some examples to validate this "truth" you are talking about.....

Why should I? I can't stand to even talk to him!!! He, like Rudy, both being former prosecutors, like playing God just a little too much. They think they can keep right on deciding which laws are worthy of their enforcement... OR NOT!!! They both think they are judges without the robes!!!

To those that think that politics is only about self agrandizement, I have no time or energy to talk to!!!

Bump.

“The illegals will not be forced to go home at all. They are not going to pay any fines. It’s not going to happen because there is no political will to do so.”
***My hope is that Duncan Hunter gets lots of traction from this and rides this Tsunami into the White House.

AS I said PK, its beyond ironic.

Yea, and I love that part about "and became productive". 40 % of illegal invaders are on some form of welfare. A large portion of the rest are filling our jails and prisons. Yup, uneducated, unskilled, government dependent, poor people is what we really need more of for our "productive" class.

“I admire and support Bush on this because he is behaving as an adult, not some spoiled adolescent stamping his foot.”

You admire the President’s policy to ignore law breakers? You want a big tent that embraces LAW BREAKERS (ILLEGAL aliens)?

The law breakers can stay out of my tent.

Rush is right and the democrats know it. Go here to read what Howard Dean has to say about the legislation...he can't believe that the republicans are this stupid. His people are telling him that with this legislation they will win 3 out of every 4 elections once this program kicks in. Thank you Bush, RNC, and Senate Republicans for killing the Republican Party.

That’s the nasty surprise they’re gonna git for paying exclusive attention to pollsters who have their own axes to grind. Besides, anyone with any intelligence KNOWS that more and more people are simply lying to polls just for the fun of it!!!

It's shocking to me that too many of you are morally outraged...even though your quality of life has not suffered because of it.

That has got to be the most myoptic, inane thing I've read on this board in a long time.

Just because YOUR quality of life has not suffered (YET!) because of it does not mean that millions of others of us have not been negatively affected.

I thought I was the only one around here who wasn’t too shook up about this bill.

If you combine this sell out of our country through this immigration bill with the sell out of the Republican Party through the potential nomination of Rudy Giuliani, you have the perfect storm to totally annihilate OUR Republican Party. We brought this upon ourselves by sacrificing our core principles to broaden the “big tent” instead of drawing people to the party with our principled ideas and leadership.

As Rush so eloquently stated today....or was it Chris Core...I can't remember.

But he said your argument they are "LAW BREAKERS" has become a tired cliche.

I'll bet under certain conditions you'd be capable of acute road rage. ;^)

Rush also said at least twice today that this thing is going to set up as big a tsunami as the Dubai Ports fiasco and Harriet the supposed "justice" did!!!

We (the Republicans) just suffered a congressional defeat like the 1994 Democrats did after the House PostOffice and Bank scandals! Now we're going to get an equal opportunity tsunami of political force that will roll all over ANY Party lines. This is more about AMERICA than even about politics, or political parties!!!

This thing can even finally bring down King Kennedy of Taxachewsetts if conservatives would play it just right!!!

What with so many RINOs in the republican party it already is dead.
Just what part of any conservative agenda have they persued in the last 5 or 6 years?

Listen up, you stay home on election day or vote for some third party hack...they'll be coming for FreeRepublic.com

And there's no 't' in myopic, genius.

No pro-amnesty candidate has a chance of the nomination, not withthe base this angry, and the field will thin on this issue.
***I sure hope you’re right. I suspect that the reason why this solution was pushed at this time was because the issue has been gathering steam with Tancredo & Hunter giving it the spotlight. Congress passed some kind of immigration bill when Buchanan was making waves and they had to come up with something to calm that crowd. Similarly, they needed to do something before this turned into a real wedge issue. Their political calculation may have backfired — I sure hope so.

"I’ve had the ominous fear that there would come a day when I actually agreed with a perspective offered by the nation’s self-intoxicated know-it-all and reigning king of pious demagoguery, herr Limbaugh."

Just wait until it gets so bad that you agree with Savage...yikes!

No! Of course not!! But we have less than 24 months to begin degrading the images of House members that help invaders scoff at laws previously passed by their body. Even the other body has less than 60 months for us to start eroding their dubious images with the voting public!!!

It's time to START!!! Purges take a while, but not forever!!!
