I vow to oppose this legislation supported by Senators Edward Kennedy and John McCain. It provides a vast new immigration benefit to millions of illegal aliens who have broken our laws to live in the United States.I opposed the 1986 amnesty act because of this same reason. It proved to be the draw that we predicted it would be.I am deeply disappointed to see history repeating itself.
This package will confirm to the world that the U.S. does not really mean what it says when it comes to immigration enforcement. As a result of the citizenship benefit included in this legislation, despite the fine print, we will see a stampede across our borders.
This vast new amnesty and expansive guest worker program will surely be ridden with fraud and abuse, and ultimately lead to millions of public-assistance-dependent immigrants.
The Senates decision to blatantly ignore the Secure Fence Act signed into law last year and only require construction of 370 miles of fence, as opposed to the 854 miles mandated by the law, is a dramatic failure of this legislation. The San Diego border fence has proven that fencing works. The time has come to quickly implement the Secure Fence Act, not retreat from its mandates.
I believe that this package will result in lower wages for Americas already-struggling families by encouraging the importation of cheap foreign labor rather than investing, developing and growing a domestic workforce that will sustain our economy far into the future.
Amnesty is not the answer.Border enforcement must be first and it must be comprehensive. To do otherwise is to repeat the mistakes of the past. This Senate bill is bad for Americans, bad for our workers, bad for law enforcement and, most importantly, bad for national security.I will fight it.Please join with me.

We have to be relentless now. FOr the good of the GOP and more importantly, the country.
He has not fumbled one question.....in 26 years!
Wow. That’s great.. Did you tell him the Freepers are in his corner?
I've liked him since I first took a serious look at him a few months back. I'm hoping his campaign can gain some more traction.
It can. His grassroots support is great and growing. I just turned two more people onto him this week as well. But send him a Grant or a Franklin, if you can.
I met Hunter a few years later, and thanked him for having the guts to tell the truth.
“I have been writing the President about this for 6 1/2 years now, joylyn. It hasnt been done because the President doesnt WANT it done”
EXACTLY!!
Hunter needs to keep doing exactly what he’s been doing. Where he supports the President as in the war on terror and in Iraq, on tax cuts, abortion etc. he should continue to do so. Where he disagrees with the President as on the border issue he should say so loud and clear but in a civil, respectful way. Just as he has been doing.
PING!
Hi, Ex. If you are interested in helping, please contribute to Duncan Hunter’s campaign. He is his own man, he belongs to no big business. So we at the grassroots must do everything we can to get the word out in every way we can, and dig deeper to help him financially. We are really fighting for our country by doing this in this most crucial election.
If you call the campaign ask for brochures. Copy or forward any articles you find about him on the Internet to all your friends and family. I put in 12-14 hours a day doing this in SW Washington State. (Of course, I am retired, so I have plenty of time to do it.)
If your precinct has no officer, contact your Republican chairman and get appointed so you can attend caucuses and conventions on the local level. Gather friends to help - Compose a good letter about the man and his achievements and distribute it going door to door.
Make sure your Republican Headquarters has all the information you can glean about him. Order more bumper stickers and brochures. Leave them in a prominent place there. Ask Hunter’s headquarters if there is any organizing already under way in your state, and contact them to share ideas.
Well, that’s about it. Remember, it’s not only a case of if a man can win, it’s what a man is capable of doing when he wins. We need a matter of fact, tell it like it is, a successful record, an American patriot, not another Globalist. Globalists have brought us to where we now are.
I wish he had some money behind him.
PING
Maybe this will push Hunter way ahead of the others.
bumping!
“I had no idea you were a chick. LOL”
Many seem to assume that. :)
What if the criminal aliens, crooks, terrorists and narco-gangsters dont want amnesty? Why should they? Wouldnt they have to pay taxes? How can you force criminals to become citizens? Why would you? If these people really wanted to be real citizens they wouldnt use phony IDs.
NO AMNESTY for Employers or Employees!
Hunter even LOOKS presidential. Gravitas.
Go Hunter in ‘08!
Rommney/Hunter - Hunter/Rommney would roll over Clinton.
Yeppers to that.
