I’d like to see and hear a bit more about hope. Where are the Ronald Reagan supporters when we need them? Reagan would have chastised such sentiment when we have 18 months to go before the next election.

When people give up on the concept of America and it’s freedoms, we have malaise. Let’s leave that ideology to the left-wing bloggers over at DU and the MSM leftist fellow-travelers. We conservatives ought to be preaching a positive message which emphasizes growth and the spirit of America which is a can-do concept. The last time I looked Jimmy Carter was still a Democrat. We do not need to emulate him with our own brand of pessimism.

Is anyone else here on the forum getting tired of doom and gloom?

It ain't "the people" who have given up on the concepts of America and her freedoms. Our politicians, the folks we elected to represent us, have abandoned those concepts.

It's not "malaise" to recognize that America has been betrayed by our elected "leaders.".

I am with you 110%! FR depresses the hell out of me lately.

If we can find a way to unite behind our common goals, we can beat satan once again.

The following (next) paragraph is pulled from the speech made by Patton to the troops... given to the Third Army on June 5th, 1944, the eve of the Allied invasion of France... operation code-named “Overlord”.. I think every single person that reads on FR should read it and remember the America that makes us teary-eyed. We should all remember every American hero that died on some flea-infested sand hell somewhere in the Pacific or endured the coldest of European winters, while fighting against a desperate and dangerous German machine. An humbling number of Countrymen have given everything, so that we can live the dream they so wanted to endure.

“Men, this stuff that some sources sling around about America wanting out of this war, not wanting to fight, is a crock of bullshit. Americans love to fight, traditionally. All real Americans love the sting and clash of battle.

You are here today for three reasons. First, because you are here to defend your homes and your loved ones. Second, you are here for your own self respect, because you would not want to be anywhere else. Third, you are here because you are real men and all real men like to fight. When you, here, everyone of you, were kids, you all admired the champion marble player, the fastest runner, the toughest boxer, the big league ball players, and the All-American football players. Americans love a winner. Americans will not tolerate a loser. Americans despise cowards. Americans play to win all of the time. I wouldn’t give a hoot in hell for a man who lost and laughed. That’s why Americans have never lost nor will ever lose a war; for the very idea of losing is hateful to an American.”

George Patton

I remember when that traitor jimmah catah was president. I remember the only truly profitable business at the time was the Bar business. People were drinking to forget the hell of working and trying to pay bills. That ******* actually said that, “The best days of America are behind us”. He was bracing America to come to terms with Americans having to live without many of the customs that make up societal norms. We would never again be “The Land of Plenty”!

Reagan reminded America who she was and where she came from. He reminded us of our Greatness, Compassion and Fortitude. He believed in America; he loved America; and when challenged by the “doom and gloom” dims, Independents, and Republican malcontents as to America’s future... he smiled, shook his head and said, “You ain’t seen nuttn’ yet”!
