The street sellers peddle staples like sugar and flour below government-set prices — sometimes still in packaging from subsidized state-run markets.

The don't see the irony. They voted in a socialist but make their living by being very good capitalists...

Were those votes legit? Not by Jimmuh’s standards, I mean?

Well, regardless, Chavez is in charge, now he can run his country into the ground just like his idol and mentor Fidel did decades ago.
