You are correct on all counts. It boils down to votes. Each party thinks that if they pander enough to the illegal aliens, they will score that voting block and ensure their political power will continue.

What is going to happen is that the socialists will gain more socialist voters and we, the conservatives who are the backbone of this country, will lose out and have no voice at all.

BUT we will be expected to continue to work and pay taxes to fund the social programs that keep them here.

Yes, one of the biggest challenges is that people who do not pay taxes can vote to elect people who try to redistribute income. Until we have a more equitable income tax, we are setting ourselves up to have a majority of have nots vote to redistribute the money of a minority of the of those who have it.
