ARLINGTON, VA – During the "First in the South" GOP debate in South Carolina last night, one thing was made clear: Rudy Giuliani does not understand how to keep America safe.
When Congressman Ron Paul, who has long served on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, explained how 50 years of American interventionism in the Middle East has helped compromise our national security, Giuliani interrupted saying he had "never heard anything so absurd." This statement is particularly troubling coming from the former mayor who tries to cast himself as a security expert, since Dr. Paul's point comes directly from the bi-partisan 9-11 Commission Report.
"Rudy Giuliani has tip-toed around the issues of abortion, guns and marriage. The only issue he has left is security, and he doesn't even get that right," said campaign chairman Kent Snyder. "It is clear from his interruption that former Mayor Giuliani has not read the 9-11 Commission Report and has no clue on how to keep America safe."

Guiliani is running for President and obviously should have read the report but as a private citizen I can tell you its not a fun read. I didn’t make it all the way through.
Ping.
I won’t defend Ron Paul on this anymore than I will defend Rudy on his liberalism.
“I wont defend Ron Paul on this anymore than I will defend Rudy on his liberalism”
Well stated!
I don’t know why everyone’s down on Ron Paul, he’s only saying the same things as the average DU denizen, or Pat Buchanan, for that matter.
Amen.
And wasn't that one of the conclusions reached in the report-that due to our retreat from Somalia, Bin Laden became more aggressive against us?
In 1993, the forces of Somali warlord Mohamed Farah Aideed hunted by U.S. forces brought down two Black Hawk helicopters and precipitated a vicious daylong firefight. In the immediate aftermath of the battle, Clinton managed a burst of bravado, telling an aide: “I believe in killing people who try to hurt you.” But soon enough he would be worrying to George Stephanopoulos: “I hope I didn’t panic and announce the pullout too soon.”

He’s not saying the same things as the DUmmies at all. His objections to the war are on constitutional grounds and have a long history in the party. The DU pinheads could give a rip about limited gov’t enshrined in the constitution, history, or anything else... The emotion of the matter has people in a muster, but objectively speaking it’s absurd for Guliani to say he’d never heard what Ron Paul was saying unless he’s been living in a cave. They all knew Paul’s position would not be popular at this point in the party so it was a softball that he was able to grab hold of best. And Guliani needed it IMO because he was sucking wind at that point. I’m not familiar with Buchanan’s position, but to be fair Ron Paul’s views are not the same as the DUmmies and his constitutional objections shouldn’t be so lightly dismissed IMO.
Ron Paul spoke the well-documented truth. Rudy cleverly seized the moment for some chest-beating bravado and the resulting political mileage in the debate.
Of course, Rudy will win the day and the primary... But Ron Paul, with every single word that he speaks, is making a lot of people stop and ponder many, many issues of concern.
Bravo Ron!
I certainly hope not!
Ron Paul and Rudy Giuliani.
That’s like having to choose between salmonella and e.coli.
No thank you.
Give me a break. Ron Paul is giving his opinion, but unless he has spoken with the 9/11 terrorist with a crystal ball, he is only speculating. Exactly wher is Ron Paul’s truth documented?
Ron Paul is simply spewing the Al Qaeda propoganda that the isolationist crowd finds so appealing. I’m sure it is American Foreign policy that prompts Muslims to cut off the heads of Thai school children in Southern Thailand, or blow up trains in India, or slaughter christians and Muslims alike in Dafur etc. etc. etc..
Ron Paul needs to get his head out of the sand, or whereever else he keeps it.
Easy...for plausible deniability. In this case though it’s just stupid (lol)
Sorry but if Ron Paul said it was raining, I`d sell my umbrella. He is now a total joke
Now why on earth would Presidents he/she Clintons have need of a walled government???? Think Rudy would dare dream ask that question of Hillry???
What`s the difference between Ron Paul and a joke? Nothing
Let me say this in words you will perhaps understand. No real, or imagined, injuries or insults justify 9/11-style terrorism. Anyone who suggests that 9/11 was "justified" because we went to war to liberate Kuwaiti Arab Muslims, or because we have supported the only pluralistic Democracy in the Middle East is a TERRORIST ENABLER. As I said in another post, Ron Paul needs to find a new party, the Hezbollah party.
