I share your concerns and frustration over this issue.
I saw this amnesty coming years ago. Whenever you have the democrats and Republicans agreeing on an issue, but for different reasons you have a recipe for disaster. The dems want guaranteed dem voters and since most illegals are poor and undereducated - the dem base - they fit the bill. Republicans just want cheap labor as a reward to their largest campaign contributors and as a bonus the lower labor costs hold down inflation.
