"Equal suffrage" doesn't mean equal numbers of warm bodies but equal voting in the Senate.

Sure it does. Johnson meets all the Constitutional requirements to serve as Senator. He could have spent his entire 6 years sitting on his butt in Sioux Falls and South Dakota would still have it's constitutional representation.

...no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate.

Nobody's denying them anything.

Does Johnson have the capacity to decide anything at this point?

You could easily ask that of most of the Congressmen and Senators.

And at some point it will become fair to ask if he can debate his Republican challenger. If not, then the situation becomes a reprise of the election of the widow Carnahan in MO back in 2000 . . . a Senator elected on a sympathy vote.

And that should be the real fear. South Dakota returning Johnson back to office in recognition of his heart-rendering fight against all odds, struggling back from the brink of death to continue serving the people of South Dakota, blah, blah, blah. I'm sorry but announcing that you're running against the incumbent Senator from South Dakota is not kicking a man when he's down. And any opponent could run a clean and honest campaign questioning Johnson's votes and positions without even bringing his health into the picture. The GOP needs to get off their ass and unite behind a single candidate early.

Sure - just run against the Democratic majority in the Senate, since keeping the Senate majority in Democratic hands is the primary if not the only effect Senator Johnson currently has. The only reasonable approach is to nationalize the election, since Johnson - due to illness - can't have a whole lot of effect on local matters.

......The GOP is handicapped by thinking that they can play nice with these people..........

The thought process should weigh the value of the lives of two or three Democratic Senators against the value of a military. Which should be allowed to exist? .....Rat senators detrimental to the republic or a strong military required to defend our freedom?

I hadn’t heard that one, but I did know that between Johnson and Kennedy, neither would be where they were without foul play.

Kennedy’s dad Joe made a deal with the mob to deliver Illinois.

Kennedy’s assassinated, Johnson takes over.

Ever see the picture of him taking the oath on AF1? If you study it, its a weird one.
