I really HATE reading stuff from Thomas Sowell.

He makes too damn much sense. It reminds me each time I read his words that the people best suited to making decisions aren’t the people who are elected.

Not only are many of the elected people not making the correct decisions but Sowell can point it out simply so everyone understands it.

It is always a joy to read anything by Sowell. He is a remarkable thinker. You know, I really would like to sit next to the likes of Edwards and have them read this. I wonder what twister blather would then come from their minds? Sowell makes a direct intellectual "slam dunk" against the likes of Edwards, Hillary and the rest of the Stalinist left.

And he explains things so well... even the left should be able to get it.

Sowell likely knows that he is not well suited for electoral decision making. He has thus specialized in ideas on political economy where he has a comparative advantage and has had much more influence than he would have if he had tried to branch out into electoral politics where his influence would be diluted by having to make practical political compromises.
