Really? Tell me more. I like Thompson, but I’m definitely interested in hearing honest viewpoints from his former constituents because I fear that the posters here on FR may be overstating his virtues.

Fred was a major player in bringing down a corrupt and criminal Tennessee governor who was among other things selling prison pardons. Thus the governors nick name was Pardon me Ray or Ray Blanton. The movie "Marie" tells the story and Fred plays his own part as the lawyer representing the state corrections commissioner. He exposed the corruption that led to inditements and later prison.
