Indeed it was him along with Ed McAteer, Paul Weyrich, and Howard Phillips. This also helped bring on the GOP takeover. He helped Americans in both parties start thinking Conservative again at a time it was really needed..

One of Falwell's accomplishments was to move the church and K-12 grade school to the LU campus to have everything at one location. The students and local people are now meeting on the campus of LU at the church.

Ron Godwin said plans are on for graduation, that he and Falwell had talked about that very thing at breakfast this morning. He said graduation would be bittersweet but would go on.

Newt Gingrich is the speaker on Saturday. They were predicting some 15,000+ in attendance. I wonder if that number will increase due to announcement of Falwell's death.
