The Rev. Jerry Falwell arrived at Lynchburg General Hospital today around noon after being found unresponsive in his office. Ron Godwin, the executive vice president of Liberty University, confirmed that Falwell was found unconscious in his office after missing an appointment this morning.
He’s in the arms of the One he spent his life loving... Jesus
Actually the MSM is doing a pretty good job so far. Even Jesse Jackson had great things to say about Sr. Falwell.
Thats a very good question. But I suspect they would come off with some nice sounding platitudes and the DUmmies would just say well they had to say that. Or they (the DUmmies) would rant and rave for awhile and then move on.
Praying for Rev. Falwell, he has been a loud voice for Christianity and will be hard to replace.
Yes, the infantile “I’ve been on FR longer than you” - NYAA NYAA NYAA schtick is just that - infantile.
So, what, when and if President Bush becomes a Freeper a couple of years from now, will he be flamed as a newbie??
Some people have to grow up.
When the going gets tough, God raises up more saints.
Have faith...
You mean as in #264?
Go away!
When Robertson goes I won't have a thing to say, but for ol' Jerry, RIP.
the flesh hates the spirit. No wonder they are so hateful, they are clueless and don’t even know it.
God Bless Rev. Falwell.
Everyone else was taken?
: )
We were hoping Sean Hannity but he had already spoken previously at graduation.
As a Social Conservative web site is mourning the death of a fellow Social Conservative and a Christian leader, you keep trolling through the hundreds of remarks attacking freerepublic members and defending the anti-Social Conservatives at DU.
Dennis Prager was talking about him today. He said that everytime he met he was just a sweet and gentle man.
May he rest in the peace of the Lord; he is home. Prayers for his family.
Both Pat and Jerry faithfully preached the gospel of Jesus Christ.
When it comes to politics, though, Pat R. is a dunce.
They had to move TRBC and his Christian school (Lynchburg Christian Academy? it’s been a while) over onto the LU campus. They couldn’t do any sort of expansion at all. TRBC was basically in the middle of a residential neighborhood with nothing but two-lane surface streets around it, and they had to get six thousand people a service in and out of there, two services, every Sunday.
One other LU thing that Falwell was savvy about was using existing physical plant where he could, to save money. He bought an old manufacturing plant that’s along the Expressway between Candler’s Mountain Road and Odd Fellows Road and set it up as “Liberty University North Campus.” I think he lost it, though, when the school and his ministry got in near-fatal financial trouble during the PTL debacle. Now, of course, LU’s expanded into the old General Electric radio/mobile phone plant on Candler’s Mountain Road and is using that—very smart.

I agree. I have been here since jan of 2004 but I am still considered a newbie. LOL.
If you’re going to equivocate, try producing a link to one FR thread that bears even the slightest resemblance to the outpouring of pure evil we’re seeing today on DU and elsewhere.
Just one thread. Go ahead and try.
I found it odd that she knew so much about the history of FR but had only been here about two months.
But in case you care, here is the Reeves thread. Count the deleted posts

It's a matter of free speech.
If the idiots and the great unwashed in DU are offending you with their hatred, why acknowledge them at all? Why talk about them and give them publicity?
Stop lurking and MOVE ON...no pun intended.
Rev Falwell, RIP!
I know. I was referring to the first ones who thought up and organized the Moral Majority Movement. The four I mentioned were the originators who initially came up with the idea between themselves.
