Send a first class letter 3,000 miles for 9 cents less than price of a typical daily newspaper. A two ounce letter
costs 8 cents more than that paper.

I work for the USPS and trust me, as much as it sounds
great, privatization would result in poor service. Given
the costs of gas (all our Jeeps, planes, etc.) and energy,
it’s amazing it only went up 2 cents. If this were some
socialistic country it’s cost you $2 to send that letter.

“privatization would result in poor service.”

Can you provide one example in the history of the world that proves your statement above? Take your time, I’m here for 4 more hours.

I’m sure you are a hard worker.

But as Hedgecock just said, 80% of the postal costs are union labor.

Besides that, service is down. All clocks were just removed from offices so customers would not be able to track wait times. In my local office, there are a few hardworking front employees, but the typical one is this guy who will just get up at any time to take a leisurely walk to the back for a few minutes to get himself a soda, when when 20+ people are in line waiting for one or two clerks.

41 cents is not outragous considering the service that is provided. Hey raccoonradio, you have support from me.

Think about it, you drop your letter in this box and like magic it is delivered in a reasonable time.
