That is indeed the question of the times we live in. It would be a real eye-opener for the newspaper to print a line item budget for a county the size of the bigger counties in Florida. It would shock us to know some of the silly things our government is paying for. Their attitude is that because it’s not ‘their’ money that it doesn’t matter. Nothing is a dangerous to us taxpayers as the OPM (other people’s money) mindset that government exhibits at every level.
The answer is not more income for these imbeciles, but rather less, and I mean WAY less, out go!
I fear we are losing any hope of getting a handle on government spending from top to bottom.
You know, that would be a great project for every willing newspaper and TV station- a weekly program detailing where the public’s money is going, all over the USA.
Fat chance. No newspaper is going to do that. The Leftist fishwraps in Florida (or anywhere else for that matter) don't want the people to know how badly the government is wasting their money.
Anyway, they are too busy writing stories sob stories that the government isn't spending enough taxpayer money on government programs.

Iwill tell you. First off in the city of miramar florida where only 5-8 people go to city commision meetings heres what they did for the people of Miramar which is 5 blocks north to south by 4 miles east to west.
They spent 20 million to build a new city hall,with a monthly electric bill in excess of 5000 dollars a mmonth.
They invoked a $130 per year surtax to build 16 more fire stations.Not bad for such a huge city?
Spent 5 million to build a new mediteranian style city garage.
3 million for a new police station why? Simple they had a roof leak and failed to fix it. During Hurricane Wilma they were to dumb to even put tarps on the roof.
Want more. Try building in this city it is up to you you will have too double the amount you will spend to do it. They have impact fees that are stagering unless you are a developer than you get what ever you want. Thats where all the tax money goes in this city
