Former CIA Director George Tenet has agreed to cooperate with the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform as the panel investigates the Bush administration’s pre-war claims about Iraq’s efforts to acquire uranium.
Tenet will testify before the panel and has agreed to provide a deposition prior to his appearance, according to a committee release.
Waxman’s staff also announced Monday that a hearing with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has been pushed back to June 19 from Tuesday. Rice has been subpoenaed to appear but has indicated that she will not comply.
According to a committee release, however, Waxman still expects Rice to testify on the issue of whether the White House overstated Iraq’s attempts to acquire uranium from Niger.
The committee also asked current National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley to be deposed voluntarily.

If Waxfong actually bothered to read Tenet’s book he would know there was no serious pre-war doubt that Saddam was reconstituting various WMD programs, the intel debates were just about some details, trying to read the tea leaves in the face of Iraq’s extensive “denial and deception” program, etc.
Tenet does all he can to try to spin for his fellow Demagogues .... portraying his infamous “slam dunk” remark as referring only to the public presentation of the intel “case” and not the underlying intel, a ludicrous distinction. If Tenet had been candid and forthright he would have said that the whole “Niger uranium” charade is a harmful tangent that has severely damaged the public discussions of intel issues in the USA and around the world.
Waxfong knows there is no “there” there, but he can always get the MSM to play along with his vicious charade.
That microphone is getting way too close to that cranial intake port.

The one question that Tenet’s book leaves open, however, is when did the CIA know that Waxman scares small children and did the CIA understate the threat? Did they knowingly allow Waxman to scare small children. Mr. Tenet, we want to know!!!!
