The only thing I questioned was her recommendation that everyone should go through two years of military training, but no draft. That’s a lot of time if you aren’t going to make use of people. We have enough govt interference in our lives as it is.

It could be part time military training. For example, at one time in the US, men who attended most colleges were required to do some military training. The land grant colleges were required to have military training. It is really only in recent years that the US military has been demonized and marginalized.

Today, Americans are fatter than ever. Fewer Americans than ever have firearm skills. Etc., etc.

You could tie it in with education grants. Take a loan or 1 years of service for every 12-16 hours of courses.

Yes, that I would go along with. I had in the back of my mind the perennial Democrat idea of everyone doing two years of “universal service.”

Certainly no harm in everyone getting weapons training, obedience training, and other basic preparations for fighting. The Swiss have something like that. Everyone in the country has a gun and the knowledge to use it, which has in the past helped them discourage invaders.
