The whole thing is chock full of holes. Any traditional parent who has had their toddler wrap their hands around that parent's finger would not even conceive of ever treating that child the way God indeed boasts of treating us. God the Warden, maybe. Not God the Father. It makes me sick to have God be lifted up as a paragon of fatherhood. He's got so many personality and character flaws that the state would take his children away from him immediately, and they would be right to do so.
If they want to say that God would ache inside from head to toe and cry until he bled tears and that was the end of it, that at least would make sense. God acts like any old king or emperor back in those days. That's not by accident. If you're writing a story about some sky-king, you use the earth-kings as the basis. It's very logical. Kings rule over their subjects, the peasants, with an iron fist. They are capricious and haughty and egotistical and prone to excess and violent and unapologetic and generally miserable examples of virtue. People back then were conditioned to worship kings from birth and actually had an expectation that the spiritual king they were asked to worship acted in the same way.
You make me very sad. I’m sorry you feel this way about God. Yes, He loves you with an everlasting love, but He made a way through His Son, Jesus Christ, for you to be reconciled to Him and to have eternal life with Him. If you reject His Son, eternity will be spent not with God but with the enemy of your soul, who has deceived you. I’m really concerned for you, for eternity and for the present.
