This is a novel notion of free and open discussion of public policy to determine the best course for future action. A polity which lives according to your strange notion, and his, is doomed, because it remains to be seen if the alternatives being discussed are better or not.
My mother always told me not to "criticize someone else unless you can do better yourself". She was right.
Sonny is saying the same thing, and he too is right.
You don't like my attitude, and I am ok with that.
Ron Paul thought he had a better idea, but he was wrong. His idea was considered and soundly rejected, and rightly so. It has been concluded by nearly everyone involved that surrender is not a good option. If he has another, better suggestion, then by all means he should speak up and give us the chance to consider it. If all he has to offer is the same surrender option then he most certainly should shut up.

“You don’t like my attitude, and I am ok with that. “
Unfortunately, all you have IS an attitude, an attitude of hubris that will meet itself coming in the door at some point and collapse on itself. Then, more than likely, it will blame its failure on something or someone else.
That’s what is shameful for anyone who claims to be a conservative.
