One encounter between Kenney and McKay, multiple sources said, left Kenney with a broken jaw and resulted in a lawsuit. Bill Kenney, said the suit was dismissed because there were no witnesses to the alleged incident. "(McKay's) been after poor Liko ever since then," said Hugh McLean, whose wife, Jean, owns Floradale florist shop. "I suppose you can say he finally got him. Liko got him, too." Bill Kenney said the relationship between his nephew and McKay made a violent confrontation between the two almost inevitable. "My nephew is not the type of person to back down," he said. "He's been antagonized and provoked by (McKay) ever since (the broken jaw) incident, and, like I say, it came to a head." Bad blood between the pair was no secret in town.

From the article mentioned in # 13.
