In a town of less than 1000 people everybody knows everyone and everybody knows each other's business.

For good or bad.

This is a tragedy of epic proportions.

It will take an artist like Faulkner or Verdi to make sense of this.

Yeah, you got that right. I didn't know it was such a small town.

I got my degree in a small area out West. One guy at work (I worked full time while in college), moved down to Phoenix for two years. I bumped into him in the grocery store the day after he got back to town. He immediately said "So I hear Jason has been cheating with Jennifer who's ten years younger than he is and is going to divorce his wife for Jennifer" (all of it was true).

I was stunned because he had been back ONE DAY, and that all happened that same week. When I was shocked into silence he said "It's amazing how s*** flies around here, isn't it?"

“This is a tragedy of epic proportions.” Come on now, you aren’t writing for the NYT.
