HOUSTON - In a shift of tactics, Republican presidential contender Rudolph Giuliani acknowledged his liberal views Friday, calling a woman's right to choose an abortion one of his "core beliefs." After a week of criticism for making contradictory comments about abortion, Giuliani also said he backs gay domestic partnerships that aren't marriage and the right of states to restrict guns. Giuliani, a New York Catholic who once considered the priesthood, chose to make his stand before a conservative, Protestant audience at Houston Baptist University in an appearance arranged just Wednesday.

No, actually, I think what he said was “A zebra never changes its spots.”
He probably really meant this one...LOL. Thanks everyone for the Gore quotes.
I think there are going to be at least four major candidates in November 2008.
The last time THAT happened was 1860, and we know what followed that.
There will be a Republican, probably Mitt. There will be a Tancredoite, perhaps Tom his own self. There will be her. And there will be a fusion ticket, McCain or Giuliani with a Democrat.
Like the Democrats who ruled from 1932-1994.
Coalitions are necessary to stay on top in this country. When coalitions break down, you have frequent power changes, at best, and civil war, at worst.
"I'm a Liberal Democrat"
Thanks for the clarification, Rudy.
Be gone!
I expect Giuliani has clarified himself effectively out of the race. I do respect the man for being forthright, at least after he saw that trying to fudge was just leading rapidly into the Swamp. If he retains his forthrightness, I would not be averse to seeing him as a VP or SecState. SecState might be the best slot for him and for the country. It needs a stubborn man. Rice folded right into the StatDept culture after only a couple of months and thereby took herself right out of presidential speculation.
Giuliani really had no choice if he is to retain credibility. The quality that propelled him this far is his stubbornness and straightforwardness. He tried to waffle but it didn’t wash with the public, left or right. I suspect it didn’t go over with him, either. He said to himself, hey who the hell is this talking with my mouth? I respect him for that. I hope to see him remain in public life but not as president or senator.
He would be my choice for State so long as he has a mandate to clean the place out.

LOL! Someone better tell Shawn Hanity. He keeps making a fool of himself shilling for his bud Rudy.
I saw about 2 minutes of Rudy’s last stand and he had his hankie in his hand wiping the rino-dome.
The Gang of 14 basically controls the left and right in the Senate regarding judicial nominations.
However, that only works because of the 60 vote cloture rule. It won't work with a simple majority. IMO the center is only about 25-30 percent of the electorate. They are the swing vote in presidential elections, but they are not enough in their own right to win either a nomination or the general.
What do you expect from a construction worker hack.
Giuliani would be a miserable disaster for the GOP. And he would lose to Hillary, whose presidency would be a miserable disaster for the USA.
Good. That action, when it reaches critical mass, is what will sink the Good Ship Juliannie. We must remember that most folks are not the political junkies that we are.
I think you’d find that Fred’s views pretty much parallel those of Rudy.
With NY, CA & FL lined up with early primaries, this strategy has every chance of winning. So then the next shoe drops: what do SoCons do? Form a 3rd party?”
Bla Bla Bla. Rooty is a moron and his political advisers don’t have brains enough to pound sand in a rat hole.
Rooty is pro abortion, pro queer agenda, and anti gun.
Those are all hot button issues that are a deal breaker for a vast majority of the population.
You can’t find 10% of the population on either side of the isle that agrees with him on all of those issues but there is way over 50% that would vote against him because of that combination or even one of them.
That doesn’t even count his other problems of illegal sanctuary cities and being an authoritarian jerk.
More that 50% of the Rats are against gun control and the queer agenda and its much higher on the Republican side.
Now that the greasy little weasel has come out and admitted what his core beliefs are the dummies that didn’t believe it before will stop supporting him.
He has no redeeming qualities that aren’t found in much better candidates at an even greater degree.
Stick a fork in that liberal puke, he’s done.
Bookmarked for future review after the FL/NY/NJ/CA primaries. Rudy is simply nationalizing Arnie's CA campaign. It's not difficult to understand the political strategy, nor is difficult to work out the electoral math.
So, the real question remains: what do SoCons do after he becomes the 2008 GOP nominee?
“So, the real question remains: what do SoCons do after he becomes the 2008 GOP nominee?”
It wont happen.
I think you better get yer fireproof undies on.....
