Father, we pray today for Your continuing grace and mercy on our President and brother in Christ, George W. Bush, and ask that You visit him in power and might, and grant him the strength he needs to continue to fight for righteousness as You have called him to do. We ask that You give him peace through the turmoil and that You would protect him from the arrows of the Enemy that fly at him daily. We ask that You would protect him from all who would do him harm and that the lies and slander that are repeated and repeated about him would be dispelled by the truth of the Light which shines within him. We pray that he might feel the prayers of Your people throughout this land and the world, and that the American people would begin to understand his character and his mettle. Lord, give him wisdom beyond human understanding and a continued faith in and sweet fellowship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Lord, we pray especially for our troops this day who are in harm’s way defending and preserving the freedoms we enjoy, and protecting us from evildoers who would destroy us. Lord, we ask that they be shielded, not only from the weapons of the enemy in the field, but also the enemy of those here at home, who want our troops to be defeated for their own political gain. Lord, we pray that those who continue to lie and distort would be silenced. We know that vengeance is Yours and that You will, indeed repay, and we thank You for that and ask that Your will be done in this matter.
Dear Lord, we also pray for this nation, and ask that You might send the flame of Your Holy Spirit to spread across this land and that a revival might break out. We pray, dear Lord, that we might be faithful, as Your children, to the promptings of Your Spirit and that we might be obedient to Your call to spread the Gospel of Your love and sacrifice to a world in need. We know that without Your cleansing blood there can be no forgiveness of sin, and we ask that You would forgive us as a nation, and as individuals for the sins that keep us from Your holiness. Father, we pray that the one of Your choosing might rise up to lead us in righteousness and in the honoring of life and morality. Lord, we thank You for the answers to these prayers, that we know will come, and we ask all these things in the strong and loving Name of Jesus, who is the Christ, Amen!
