It’s apparently been very windy and very low humidity up there. And there was a massive blow-down of trees there seven or eight years ago, and the evnviro-whackos wouldn’t let logging companies go in and clean it up, so there’s assloads of fuel to keep the fire going.
I remember the blow down story. Pity that some enterprising paper mill couldn’t make a few zillion rolls of Brawny Towels for Sheryl Crow.
