"ThyssenKrupp has chosen Alabama over Louisiana in placing a steel plant which is a 3.1 billion mill in a highly-competitive economic development bid for a major plant that could employ 2,700 people and over 38,000 individuals in indirect jobs. Louisiana House had made a last ditch effort to secure the plant on Thursday by adding an additional one hundred million dollars to the pot and other incentives. The decision is a real blow to Louisiana as it tries to recover from the ravages of Katrina and Rita."
