Re: Statement re Democratic National Committee
Dear Mr Robinson:
We are writing on behalf of our client, the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
A post by coffee260 on FreeRepublic.com today states that this morning, on the Quinn & Rose show on XM, co-host Quin stated that the DNC chairman, Gov. Howard Dean had called Gov Kathleen Sebelius (D-Kans) around 5:00am on morning after a tornado destroyed the town of Greensburg, Kansas and discussed with here what to say about the tornado and how to blame the war in Iraq and the Bush administration on a slow response to the aftermath.
The statement was made by Mr Quinn, repeated on FreeRepublic, is demonstrably, unequivocally and absolutely false. Gov Dean had no such conversation with Gov Sebelius, ever.
No effort was made by FreeRepublic to contact anyone at the DNC for comment or to check the accuracy of these statements before they were published. FreeRepublic not only repeated this statement, but further stressed that Quinns source was extremely reliable and in a position that would give him direct knowledge of these revelations.
The statements quoted above are false and defamatory, are libelous and slanderous and clearly threaten to interfere with the DNCs operations and ability to solicit support and raise funds by predjuding the organization in the eyes of the Democratic Party supporters and the public. For these reasons, we demand that FreeRepublic immediately cease and desist from Further dissemination of the above quoted statements or any statements similar in substance and immediately post a retraction of these statements in a location on its web pages at least as prominent as that on which the original story appeared.
Please let us know by noon, May 11, 2007, whether you intend to comply with these requests.
Thanks for your time and immediate attention to this important matter.
Sincerely yours,
(Signature)
Joseph E Sandler
Great picture!
Part of the Hillary! campaign effort to control the internet.

“told them so in a polite four word response”
I’d like and S, H, T, F, K, H and an “u” for the vowel, please.
What would even be funnier, is a bunch of guys dressed in revolutionary uniforms, and they would lie on the ground with placards on them saying:” We died fighting for freedom so you could slander, trample on and hate us”.
But yeah, I like the Islamakazis idea.
The lawyers’ letter is a steaming pantload.
Why am I reminded of the White House litigation against Matt Drudge and the LAT/Washington Post fiasco?
This smells of Hillary!
Please keep us posted.
Stay well.

Yup. I would second that remark. That’s one of the reasons why my original freeper screenname was “Don’t wanna be audited”.
I’m so envious. I’ve been a Freeper for almost a decade and I ain’t never got a Cease & Desist order to frame on my wall, no visits by Secret Service agents, no notoriety for pointing out font usage in an obvious MSM forgery that brought down a media icon like Dan Rather. I’m just too darned boring. Oh, well, Free Republic needs boring people like me, too.
p.s. keep up the good work, all of you. ;-)

I can.
Lo and behold, I’m driving home today and the 2 PM ET Fox Radio News broadcast plays a clip of a retired Nat’l Guard general giving the RAT response to the President’s radio message. What did the general say? That Iraq had an impact on the guard response to the tornadoes!!! And don’t tell me that the radio address was thought up a few hours before it was delivered. The DNC is angry because someone stole their thunder! That’s all.
Goatspace?! Bwahahahahaha!
That's FUnnie.
Best redouble your efforts then to ensure that we nominate a conservative. America deserves better.
Funny!!!! Too bad the Retired General didn’t get the memo. Greensburg didn’t need the National Guard to come out. They needed the Red Cross and Fema, which they got. LOL!!! Funny LW. They never get the message right. Besides, the people need shelter, food and clothing, something the National Guard doesn’t do. If anything, they need the Army Corp of Engineers. Not the NG.
“DNC is apparently stupider than we thought.”
I’ll say. You can never please those idiots. I thought they would send him a letter of appreciation for allowing all the Rudy supporters to be demonized and banished from FR.

I worked diligently, tirelessly for a candidate for U.S. Senate.
I saw him regularly and spoke about such things as his commitment to life, faith, family values, tax hardships for the one-wage family.
I encouraged people I knew to donate their money to his campaign and even talked one couple into having an event for him at their home. Marilyn Quayle (Dan was still V.P. at that time) was the "star" attraction.
Many people came and donated $$$$$ to this man.
We fought off liberal Republicans in the Primary and a liberal Governor in both the Primary and General election.
He was elected by a nose.
I can honestly attest that his going to D.C. was the worst thing that could have ever happened to him. Not only has he worked and voted for many projects for which I am violently opposed, he wants to use his "stature" as a conservative to propel him to the Presidency.
When I last wrote/faxed/and emailed this man, I told him that in no uncertain terms would he ever get my vote again, but that I would again work tirelessly to defeat him in another Republican Primary (though the Bush White House/Karl Rove will strongly go to bat to keep him where he is.)
The name of this turncoat who has "grown on the job" while he has forgotten completely why he ran in the first place and whom, exactly he is supposed to represent - none other than Sen. Sam Brownback, scourge of the people.
