so you admit you didn’t understand it? Pretty much anyone who laughs all the way through it as you claimed, loves commies, hates America and sleeps with their own mother.
I admit that it was a ludicrous fantasy.
I see from your personal info that you've been there, done that. From that you should realize what incredible logistic feats are required to mount a force in Iraq, a force that would only qualify as a "token" force in comparison to any WW2 campaign, Korea, or Vietnam. It took months of massive airlift and sealift to put the Desert Storm forces in place, and those forces were far, far less that was required for an invasion of Europe.
Red Dawn totally ignored logistics, and had a small force of taco benders conquering the American heartland. How did their token force of armored vehicles and aircraft get there after the initial raids alerted the US military to an invasion? How did the invaders assemble the massive forces required to fight the US military to a stalemate without being detected well in advance and interdicted?
I understand the appeal of the movie to American patriots, which I most certainly am, but it's a ludicrous jagoff fantasy scenario. The Japanese had the resources to invade the Left Coast after Pearl Harbor, but they were smart enough to know they would get bogged down in a hopeless war of attrition on the US mainland. No one else in contemporary history has had anywhere near the resources required to militarily invade the US on any scale at all. It's not going to happen and it can't happen.
