It would be better if he just kept his comments about the subject to: “I was a filthy pro-abort. I was wrong. Now, I’m pro-life.”

Can you cite Reagan's speech where he ever did that, despite having signed a key piece of abortion legislation (which Romney never did)? Without claiming to be “personally pro-life but...” or claiming that Ronald Reagan - who, in 1967, was as pro-life as most pro-lifers are today - was “pro-choice.”

He directly compares himself to Mr. Reagan:

“He added: ‘But if you go the other direction, as I have and as Ronald Reagan did and (former Illinois Rep.) Henry Hyde and (former president) George Herbert Walker Bush, it’s like the media can’t get enough of it: “Oh, well, why did you change?”’ “

In that Mr. Reagan was never, like Mr. Romney, a pro-abort, I take issue with the comparison. Mr. Romney is NOT like Ronald Reagan in this way.
