FORT DIX, N.J. The three brothers being charged as part of the alleged Fort Dix terror plot may have been smuggled across the border, FOX News has learned. Dritan "Anthony" or "Tony" Duka, 28; Shain Duka, 26; and Eljvir "Elvis" Duka, 23, were in the United States illegally. Federal investigators were exploring whether they were smuggled into the country or entered as stowaways.
Because the three men entered the United States without inspection, there is no legal record of their entry.
The six being charged in the alleged plot Mohamad Ibrahim Shnewer, 22; Serdar Tatar, 23; Agron Abdullahu, 24; and the Duka brothers were ordered held without bail for a hearing Friday....
Four of the arrested men were born in the former Yugoslavia, one was born in Jordan and one came from Turkey, authorities said. Three were in the United States illegally; two had green cards allowing them to stay in this country permanently; and the sixth is a U.S. citizen.
Federal investigators are now checking whether the latter three lied on their immigration paperwork...
One drove a cab, three were roofers. Another worked at a 7-Eleven and a sixth at a supermarket. Their alleged plot to attack Fort Dix was foiled by another blue-collar worker: a video store clerk...
Weis said the U.S. is seeing a "brand-new form of terrorism," involving smaller, more loosely defined groups that may not be connected to Al Qaeda but are inspired by its ideology...
The restaurant's chef, Joseph Hofflinger, 35, quit after learning the owner was the father of one of the suspects.
"My son is in the 82nd Airborne," Hofflinger told ABC. "I won't work for a place that supports terrorism so I'm out."

He obviously did something right if his son went airbone right out of high school. Families like this are the backbone of America. God bless them, every one.
Or maybe they were....
Homegrown my a##.
And raised a hero.
Regards
They are homegrown only in the sense that they apparently had more than one meal on American soil. The news media just mindlessly repeats this crap until I want to scream.
This truly highlights the crux of the problem with our porous southern border.
Authorities have absolutely no clue who has crossed the border over the last 6 years. And at 3500-plus per day, the odds are that the three illegals in this story are just the pin-prick tip of the iceberg.
(How’s that for mixed metaphors?)
Thanks for the link.
Bet the Clinton spin machine is in full gear!!
Lots of 'Splaining to do about 'The Village' at Fort Dix!!
I’d say it’s worth some subpoeanae. But I won’t hold my breath waiting for any to be issued.
Six year? To my personal knowlege, this goes back to the early 80s, if not earlier. Remember the 1986 “amnesty” bill that was supposed to stop illegal immigration?
“Another worked at a 7-Eleven”
I remember Joe Biden mentioning that a while back ;)
And raised a hero.Absolutely. And is still standing four-square behind his hero son. Mr. Hofflinger sounds like a remarkable man in many ways. My hat's off to him.
Schools aren't allowed to ask for documentation. Have you seen what's going on at the border crossing in El Paso?
Maybe they just waded across the Rio Grande. Just a thought.
L
George Bush’s domestic border policy at work.
I guess family values don’t stop at the Tigris.
Oh, I agree with you, but...
I only went back to ‘01 with my comment because open borders after 9/11 is criminal, IMHO.
Who was that idiot at the press conference - I saw only a small part - who declared them “homegrown”?
I had to produce documentation for my daughter’s health records on several occasions in order to enroll her in school. But she’s an 11th generation American.
In my county we have to show all kinds of documentation and and prove we reside in a particular school district. It is almost impossible to change schools. Except, possibly if you are an illegal alien.
True...it’s legal immigration status documentation they’re not allowed to pursue.
