India is quite a challenge, they have communism within thier Gov. They have others that want to come to the table
Indian has communists within her government and US has NPT Ayatollahs within her government so it all balances out.
The Iran gas issue is not so simple for any Indian government. Both the communists which support the government & the centre-right hindu nationalist BJP,are calling for India to reject US demands to shelve the pipeline. So the domestic compulsions are very overwhelming. The economic ones are no less simple-India needs cheap energy & the nuclear deal will take almost a decade to reap fruit on the ground, unlike what some airheads over here rant. The other gas options for India are Qatar, Burma,Bangladesh & Indonesia-all more or less as stable/unstable as Iran is.
